Inside Doctors Atta - Longevity Flour Ingredients

Whole Wheat- MP Sharbati
Vital Wheat Protein
Pea Protein Isolate
Soya Flour
Psyllium Husk
Flaxseed ALA

Whole Wheat- MP Sharbati

What it is:
Sharbati wheat grown in the black cotton soil belt of Madhya Pradesh, stone-ground whole.
Why we use it:
Sharbati is the wheat Indian kitchens rate highest for roti — naturally sweeter, softer, and it rolls thin without tearing. It is the base of the flour, which means the higher protein arrives inside a roti that still behaves like the one you already make.

Vital Wheat Protein

What it is:
The protein fraction of wheat, separated and concentrated.
Why we use it:
It lifts the protein of the flour substantially while keeping the base entirely wheat. It also gives the dough its elasticity — without it, a high-protein atta rolls stiff and cooks dense.

Pea Protein Isolate

What it is:
Protein extracted from yellow split peas, purified to roughly 80% protein.
Why we use it:
Wheat protein is naturally low in lysine, an essential amino acid. Pea protein is rich in it. Putting the two together is what moves the flour toward a complete amino acid profile rather than simply more of the same protein.

Soya Flour

What it is:
Full-fat soybeans, cleaned and finely milled.
Why we use it:
Soy is one of the few plant proteins that is complete on its own, containing all nine essential amino acids. It also carries the natural fats of the bean, which help keep the roti soft rather than dry.

Psyllium Husk

What it is:
The husk of the Plantago ovata seed — isabgol.
Why we use it:
It is almost entirely soluble fibre, and it holds water. That does two jobs at once: it raises the fibre of the meal, and it keeps a high-protein dough pliable instead of crumbly.

Flaxseed ALA

What it is:
Whole flaxseed, ground fine.
Why we use it:
Flaxseed is India's most accessible plant source of alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fat the body cannot make for itself. It brings additional fibre with it, and the fine grind keeps the dough smooth.

Formulated with doctors. Measured in a lab.

The targets for this flour were set with practising doctors — how much protein, what kind, how much fibre, and what we were not willing to add. Then the finished flour went to NABL-accredited laboratories to be measured. Everything below is what came back.

Protein printed on a pack is not the same as protein you digest. In a laboratory digestion test, Longevity Flour released 88% of its protein over two hours against 48% for plain wheat flour.

This is an in-vitro test, which models digestion in the lab rather than measuring it in people.

The same laboratory method, run for glucose. Longevity Flour released its glucose slowly and levelled off; plain wheat flour kept climbing for the full two hours.

This is a laboratory screening, not a human study, so we read it as an indication rather than a glycaemic index.

A protein counts as complete only if it carries all nine essential amino acids in the proportions a body needs. Measured against the FAO/WHO reference pattern, Longevity Flour clears every one of them.

That is what produces its PDCAAS of 1.00 — the maximum on that scale.

Why does protein quality matter?

Protein is broken down during digestion into amino acids, which the body uses for processes including tissue maintenance and muscle protein synthesis. Essential amino acids must come from the diet, so the quality of a protein depends not only on how much protein it contains, but also on its essential amino-acid composition and digestibility.

Why combine different plant proteins?

“Different plant proteins can complement each other’s amino-acid profiles.” No single plant protein needs to do everything. Cereal and legume proteins have different amino-acid patterns, which is why combining sources can improve the overall nutritional profile. Pea and soy proteins, for example, can complement other plant proteins when used in appropriate mixtures.

Why is leucine relevant to muscle protein synthesis?

“Leucine acts as an important signal for the machinery involved in muscle protein synthesis.” Leucine is one of the essential amino acids and plays an important signalling role in the regulation of muscle protein synthesis. However, leucine doesn’t work in isolation—the body also requires adequate total protein and the other essential amino acids to support the process.

Questions

Before you order

Will the roti taste different?

It tastes like a wholewheat roti with a slightly nuttier finish. Use a little less water than you normally would and rest the dough for ten minutes — that's what keeps it soft.

How long does 1 kg last?

Roughly 25 rotis, so about a week for one person eating three to four rotis a day. Most families order the 2 kg pack for a month.

Can children eat it?

Yes, it's an everyday wheat-based staple. For infants, or for any child on a prescribed diet, check with your paediatrician first.

Is it suitable for people managing blood sugar?

It's a high-protein, high-fibre flour. We don't make treatment claims for any medical condition — if you're managing a condition, share the pack's nutrition panel with your doctor or dietitian and follow their advice.

Is it gluten free?

No. It contains wheat flour and vital wheat gluten, and is not suitable for anyone with coeliac disease or a gluten intolerance.

How do I store it?

Airtight container, cool and dry, away from sunlight. Refer to the pack for the exact shelf life and storage instructions.

What if I don't like it?

Write to us within 7 days of delivery and we'll refund the pack. We'd rather hear what went wrong than keep the money.
